I recently received this "Lumary 6 Pack Smart Pathway Lights 3000LM, RGBAI/Cool/Warm White, Aluminum Wired Landscape Lighting IP65 Waterproof Works with Wi-Fi APP/Voice/Remote Control for Outdoor Yard, Garden, Walkway" and it's awesome having multiple devices (lights) controllable via a single app.
These lights could not be much simpler to setup and install. Remove them from the box and IMMEDIATELY put AAA batteries in the remote. From there, just plug in the power and connect the little screw-cover coupler to the last piece of the power cord, and you're ready to add them to the network and then stick 'em in the ground to signal to everyone that you're READY!
These lights are very simple looking, but I like that simplicity. It means they'll blend well with various styles. Your home is ultra-modern? These will fit nicely. Your rented home is an American Colonial style and you're not allowed to make any permanent changes? These are perfect for renters because they don't have to be hardwired and can be pulled up, packed away, and reused at the next property!
These lights have a full range of "white," from the warmest orangey glow to the coolest super-white, and can display a gazillion individual colors as well (no, "gazillion" isn't the actual color count). There are preset "scenes" in the app which allow for some pretty festive displays, though I don't know I'm in agreement with some of the "scenes" individual names as they don't feel like they match the light show. But I may be letting personal bias come into it a bit there. If the scene has a name including a word like "relaxing" then I really don't expect the lights to "flash" and would anticipate a more soothing transition, but hey. You can customize them and set up your own scene if you like, but I'll probably end up picking one I like for "general use" and then alternating between a "spooky" color combo for Halloween and a more traditionally "Christmassy" color setup for the holiday season. But there are a lot of options and most of them are pretty cool, even if using them only for the temporary test drive.
I mentioned it in the setup, but this set of path lights are fantastic because you can just plug them into an available AC outlet and start using them immediately. The app lets you associate the devices with Alexa, and as long as you remember how you NAMED them, you can use voice control. I personally lean more to the "on a schedule" variety of automation, and have these set up in Alexa to come ON at sunset and go OFF at sunrise. Alexa is unable to enable or change the "scene," but will reliably activate/deactivate the lights, so once you pick the scene you're good with, that's how it will be next time they come on. Pretty user-friendly, just less customizable than I'd hoped. One day, Alexa (and maybe Google) will be able to turn on a set of lights, run some kind of subroutine that makes them do fancy tricks, and things will be seamless. We can't do that YET, but it's closer.
This set of lights was priced at $219.99 when I ordered, but there's a $66 coupon available as I type this review, making these only $153.99. They're a bit on the expensive side for a 6-pack of lights, but the benefits kind of justify the higher pricing. You know, little details like not having to involve the hourly rate of a professional electrician. If you pay an electrician for ONLY the time being billed, it's still liable to cost more than these lights, ya know?
I've had nothing but a positive experience with these Lumary lights and I'm happy to have them working in conjunction with a set of Lumary rope lights on the back patio. Setting them up as a group to display the same scene wasn't quite as intuitive as I'd hoped, but with some fiddling around I was able to get them doing things "in synch" with each other and I'm really digging that. It's not 100% "automated" yet, but it's LOOKING like it is!
Happy to recommend!
