In an attractive box, the smart ceiling light from Lumary arrived well packed with me. Already when unpacking, the high-quality and robust workmanship of the plastic lamp is noticeable, which is always a pleasure. Both the white housing and the shade are neatly manufactured and do not have any casting seams or the like. The lamp is opened by turning the mounting plate, and again I was pleasantly surprised: contact to the house power is made on the mounting plate, not on the lamp itself.
The latter gets the power only through contact plates, which close the circuit when turned closed. Very convenient, because you do not have to hold up the light during installation. Fastening is thus very quick, thanks to the generous screw holes you have easy play there - three screws and dowels are included, by the way. The cable clamps also make it possible to connect the cables without frustration. Turn the light onto the plate, snap it into place and it's ready for use.
When first turned on, the light goes into pairing mode and flashes. Using the Smartlife app, you can find and pair the lamp in seconds. Pairing with Alexa and the corresponding skill is just as quick. The light of the lamp is very powerful and the cool to white light temperatures are controlled separately from the RGB lights - both can even be mixed. The 2200lm is quite noticeable, because the light is really bright at 100% in the white tones and illuminates the room excellently - flicker-free, of course.
Now briefly to the smart part of the light. There is an incredible variety of options here. Via the app, you can really customize the lamp to your needs down to the last detail. From the brightness to the color, automatic on and off, a music mode (which uses the microphone from the smartphone), sleep timer, wake up with daylight and fall asleep with moonlight, time programming, to preset scenes.
Also great is that you can also create manual color/light gradients in your own DIY scenes, including brightness, speed and transition type. But what impressed me the most personally is that you can determine the behavior when you physically turn it on. Even with the more expensive smart lamps from a well-known company, a setting reset is announced after (usually accidentally) operating the light switch. Here, I can choose that too, but so can the last setting before switching off or a setting I set - absolutely great.
As usual, the control via Alexa is somewhat more limited, but works flawlessly with on/off, brightness, light temperature, RGB color.
What I like:
+ high-quality workmanship
+ comfortable and easy installation
+ with 2200lm very bright
+ powerful RGB lights
+ incredibly many configuration options and features
+ connection to Alexa
Conclusion: Yes, the ceiling light is priced a bit higher, but rightly so. In my opinion, you get a smart light of the extra class here, which does not need to hide from better-known manufacturers. The fact that it is not just a smart light bulb, which can be just as expensive in some cases, is also a big plus point here - the "socket" is virtually included here. I like smart lights and what Lumary offers here is quite great class. Deserved 5 stars and my recommendation.
